What should I do if my garbage disposal is humming but not working?
A humming disposal usually means it has power but the flywheel is jammed. Turn it off and cut power at the plug or breaker. Press the reset button on the unit. Insert a hex key in the bottom slot and turn it back and forth to free the impeller. Remove debris with tongs; never put your hand inside. Restore power and test.
